Baby DVD Learning – Small Kids Learn Chinese Phrases on Their Daily Activities

Baby DVD Learning - Little Pim is a 3-piece DVD set especially designed for the small kids audience. The DVDs teach the children words and phrases about waking, eating and playing. Little Pim’s series includes Eating and Drinking (DVD 1), Wake Up Smiling (DVD 2), and Playtime (DVD 3).
Little Pim DVDs are very useful for little children to learn to Chinese. A lot of learning-Chinese DVDs for children focus on individual words for children, like colors and numbers. Little Pim DVDs also feature these words, plus more. Little Pim teaches action phrases that small children use in daily life, such as "I am playing," "One more time?" "Mama is sleeping," and more. Compared to other learn-Chinese videos, Little Pim has a practical approach for little children to learn Chinese. Besides useful action words, it is laudable that Little Pim also teaches self care phrases like "She is combing her hair," and "She is brushing her teeth." It also teaches Chinese for safety phrases, like "Be careful, that is hot."

Buyers can get up to $25 off when they get the bundle. Little Pim DVDs also has a Pinyin Companion Guide for each DVD, to help parents and teachers note the Chinese words and phrases featured in the DVDs.
The Little Pim series is primarily for children who are learning Chinese as a second language. Parents can also use these programs to enhance their young child’s verbal skills, even if his or her first language is Chinese. Little Pim was created in response to scientific proof that the human brain is most receptive to learning new languages during early childhood. Little Pim was released in 2007, produced by a mother-award winning film maker Julia Pimsleur Levine.
Little Pim has won 5 awards from distinguished consumer-awards giving bodies, like Kids First! Coalition for Quality Children’s Media, Parents’ Choice, i-Parenting, Dove Foundation, and Parent-to-Parent.

The best are the ones with the hard drive We looked into the ones with the mini DVD's but they told us they can only hold 30 minutes of recording each!
So we spent more and got the one with the hard drive it was about $700 on sale at Best Buy (Sony Handicam), I know this is more than your budget but wanted to tell you anyway.

You can look up single words that you'll use with your baby: milk, eat, more, play, happy, nap etc
The best way to teach is a sign or two at a time, and be consistent. Everytime you're about to offer food, do the sign for eat. Later on, when he/she understands it, you can ask "eat?" Before long, he/she will sign back! Incorporate the signs into everyday life.

The Baby Mozart DVD from the Baby Einstein series is the one you are talking about. It's wonderful! There are other tapes in the Baby Einstein series, but the rest of them aren't as good as this one.http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Einstein-Mozart-Music-Festival/dp/B00005YUPN/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1196504053&sr=8-2
You may also love the HBO Classical Baby series. They are on DVD, and consist of The Art Show, The Music SHow, and The Dance Show. My daughter loves all three, but she watches Classical baby: The Art Show every night before going to bed. In it, there are many classical pieces of music set to the images of many famous works of art. The best part is that they animate the works of art! For example, for Van Gogh's Starry Night, they close in on the mountain on the left, and you see many animals and other creatures tucking their babies into bed. It's really endearing, and now that my daughter is a little older, I've begun teaching her the names of the pieces of art and music. She knows who Mona Lisa is, and can name the Blue Danube, and Habanera pieces of music just by hearing them! http://www.amazon.com/Classical-Baby-Art-Show/dp/B0009WIE3O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1196504102&sr=1-1

my sister-in-law purchase one for my daughter and i played it once for her at 12 months old and she kept yawning and it was making me yawn because it was so boring to watch (of course i know its not made to entertain the parents). i didn't let my baby watch any tv until recently (she's 14 months old now) and i only let her watch limited video time and she seems to really like barney (which is annoying) and elmo. but to me the baby einstein were not so great but i know a lot of people who love them for their kids. some people say that babies that young shouldn't really need to be watching dvds and they actually will learn more through real interaction rather then what they see on tv. also parents will start using the tv as a babysitter and not realize how often they just pop in a dvd to distract their child while they do their things which is not good for the child. it may just start off as being little at a time but then it becomes more often. but to me its up to the parent and what you feel is best for your child. i don't mind popping in barney so i can use the bathroom…thats fine with me and she dances to his songs and she's happy.

Nope, but you can do the same thing at home with reading to your child, talking to your child, and pointing out items anywhere you are at any time and saying them to your child. Pretty soon your baby will be speaking and reading.
I think it's all a crock of bull. Why can't kids just be kids? Why don't 8 month old children have to read before they can even speak properly? It's silly. Obviously there is a time and place for learning. I could read at 4 and my parents didn't have "Your Baby Can Read" but they did the SAME EXACT THING as in the videos.
