Discount Baby Toy- Advice on Buying Baby Products

Discount Baby Toy - When we get word that a little one is on the way whether we are adopting or pregnant it sets off the nesting instinct in us. We start browsing the baby products at all of the local stores and we spend hours surfing the web for the latest baby gear. Whether your new to the game or you have been away for a while, the seamlessly never ending stream of new baby gadgets can be very confusing. The fact is, your baby only needs a few basic baby products and some simple baby gear to get started in this world. Let's exam the essentials every baby must have.
1. Feeding items are a must whether you are bottle or breastfeeding. You will need your feeding items before you even leave the hospital, so they are essential. If you are bottle feeding your baby you will need to decide what bottles you will be using and stock up on smaller sized bottles. You will also need to select a formula and get a bottle brush, drying rack and warmer. If you are planning on breastfeeding your baby you will need breast pads, a nursing bra and possibly a breast pump and storage kit. Regardless of which feeding method you choose you will need burp cloths and bibs.
2. Diapering items are also a part of essential baby gear. There are many diapering baby products available and sorting out what you do and don't need can be mind bending. When buying diapering products you must decide between cloth and disposable diapers before you proceed with any other purchases. If you choose to use a cloth diapering system you will need a diaper pail and plenty of cloth diapers to start. If you decide to go with a disposable diapering system you will need to stock up on newborn sized diapers and you may want to consider buying a diaper pail. Regardless of which diapering method you choose you will need baby wipes, a diaper changing pad and some form of diaper rash treatment.
3. When you and your baby are ready to leave the hospital and head on your way home you must have a car safety seat. Car safety seats are required by law and most hospitals won't even allow you to leave without one. It is absolutely essential that you make sure your car safety seat is not recalled and that it is suitable for infants. Typically the reclined rear facing carrier style seats are best. Additionally, if your car safety seat does not already have one in place you will want to buy an infant head positioner. Newborns are unable to control their neck and head, so the positioner nestles them in their car safety seat comfortably.
Naturally, there is so much more out there that you will want and need for your baby. Just keep in mind that your baby only wants for you to love them and meet their basic needs.

As far as products, this is what I have used with three kids or have found it works the best:
Bath soap: Aveeno (doesn't sting the eyes like even the tear free brand can)
Lotion: Baby magic, in the pink bottle. Just cause that is the scent I like the best. Available only on line.
STAY AWAY FROM LAVENDER OR CHAMOMILLE SCENTS UNTIL 6 MONTHS OF AGE, AS THIS CAN TRIGGER ASTHMA OR OTHER ALLERGIES, SAYS SO ON THE BACK OF BOTTLE.
Diapers: Huggies, I thought the other brands didn't fit right or smelled funny, the ones that were scented made my kids break out.
Wipes: Members Mark from Sam's Club. Buy 'em in bulk and they are thick and wet. They are great!!
Bottles: I went with Playtex Nursers with drop in liners. At the time of my first child's birth we didn't have a dishwasher and I was concerned about sanitary conditions. I also liked the fact that I could push on the liner to release all the air from the bottle prior to feeding, resulting in less spit up and colic.
Formula: I breastfed my first for 4 months and then started him on formula.I liked the Enfamil powder the best. It was easy to get the formula to mix without water and I never had a problem with chunks like I did with Similac. Plus I could pre-make the bottles with just the dry formula and then add water when I needed it. As opposed to the liquid, if you don't use it all at a certain time than it goes bad. Plus it is easier to travel with the powder, just take a bottle of water with, the liquid has to be refrigerated.
Pacifiers: If you are planning on breastfeeding and decide to use a pacifier I suggest using the kind that are just a straight nipple, nothing for the child to bite down on to hold it in their mouths. Cause then when the child nurses they will bite down on you to hold your nipple in. I prefer the Walmart brand generics or the Soothie. The Soothie can actually improve their suction and ability to nurse if used properly. If you aren't nursing, go Nuk. I liked them the best. I think that is why my first baby nursed only the 4 months. Nipple preference.
Don't forget the stuff you are gonna need the most but are more than likely to forget:
Baby Mylicon, Great for baby's gassy tummy
Baby Tylenol, A must for baby when she is sick, at least until 6 months and then you can use ibuprofen.
Johnson and Johnson 3 in 1 diaper cream, it is not greasy or stinky, or tacky and hard to wash off. It is the perfect mixture.
If you are nursing:
Lanisoah creme: helps heal even the most painful nipples!
Johnson and Johnson nursing pads, contour to the breast than taper at the edges not leaving huge nursing pad lines to be seen through your shirt.
Those are just the items I preferred. You may find that you have your own preferences and likes. You are gonna find a lot of people have a lot of unsolicited advice for you. Remember you are the parent and you know what is best for your baby, don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. Best of luck to you!!

Baby tubs are helpful right in the beginning when the baby is tiny, however, once they can sit up on their own, its easier to wash them in the sink. Diaper Genies are a total waste of money. Buy a bunch of freezer bags or save your produce bags and use those instead, much easier and just as effective. Cradles and basinettes are a waste of money, and I never once used a changing table for either of my kids. Its just as easy to put a changing pad down on the floor or the bed or the couch and use that.
I have to say that their are things you can't live without. A ton of onesies, a highchair with a VINYL OR PLASTIC pad. Do not get one with a cloth chairpad, they are a pain to wash and get ruined in the washing machine. Also a pack-n-play (playpen) with the basinette insert is great, you can use the basinett portion rather than buying a separate basinette, and then later use it as a changing area if you need one. Plus, you can take the pack-n-play everywhere. I'd also recommend a stroller that folds like an umbrella, not the cheap ones, though, they have sturdy ones with underseat storage baskets, and seats that recline fully, as well as having cupholders for mom. I used this way more often than a traditional travel-system with the giant stroller. Plus, they take up less room in your trunk, fold and unfold with one hand and are easy when you travel on an airplane. I couldn't have lived without the swing for my first baby but my second baby hated it, so it just all depends on your baby. You don't really need gates until the baby is mobile, unless you are trying to keep pets away from the baby, I wouldn't worry about it until then. When you do, I'd invest in a couple of metal, tension gates with swinging doors. They are about fifty bucks apiece, but work really well and don't damage your doorframes or walls, the plastic ones will. Baby bottle warmers designed for the car don't work at all. I did buy the Avent baby bottle sterilizer and its a bit pricey but if you intend to steralize bottles and nipples, this is the easiest way to do it, and only requires you to have a microwave. Oh! nasal aspirators (bulb syringes), saline nasal drops and humidifiers are essential as babies typically wait until the wee hours to get sick and then every store in town is closed. Hope this helps and good luck.

Wow you certainly do your research. I think you have covered alot, the rest you will learn as you go through the journey. As for approaching the subject of children just go "darling how do you feel about us having a baby", "how would you feel if i were pregnant"
Just talk to him, im sure you 2 are on the same path. Good luck.

Dreft laundry detergent is great to use for babies. You can wash their clothes in it, their bedding, everything.
I am having my first baby, but based on the advice given to me Graco is a good name in baby products. Johnson&Johnson of course for bath products. I am planning to use Dr. Brown bottles.
I would get on Babies R Us's website. Along with all their products are customer reviews. They were very helpful to me in registering and comparing products.

Walmart will be the cheapest. Or place an ad on craigslist, there are always tons of people holding on to barely used stuff and you could save a ton of money.
Adorable picture btw

We use Huggies diapers because we can buy them in huge cases at Costco (sometimes we buy Pampers on amazon.com when they have a sale that makes them cheaper than the Huggies). I've used Luvs, but don't like that they don't have stretchy sides. Also, I personally found that when we used generic we had to change them more often so any savings was wiped out.
For wipes we use the Kirkland (Costco) brand. However, the next best are the Paren't Choice at Walmart. After that are Huggies, and then Pampers. Dollar store are the worst because they are so thin.
One of my little "secrets": Rather than buying the travel size wipes, just put a few from your large tub into a ziplock bag and put that into the diaper bag.
The Huggies disposable changing pads are great for the diaper bag for those times you have to change your baby on the floor of a restaurant or store restroom (and then learn to avoid those stores in the future).
Get the mobile that takes batteries and comes with a remote control.
Don't waste money on a wipes warmer or bottle warmer.
Get the regular size swing if you have room (and don't be wooed by the ones that have a zillion speeds, you only end up using 2)
A trash can outside your front door is the best place to put diapers, I've yet to hear of an indoor diaper disposal that can handle the stench once they start solids (and it only gets worse when they switch to regular milk).
A bottle of Febreze is a must next to the changing table.
Avoid the outfits that come with accessories (hats, shoes, booties, etc) because they cost more and the accessories NEVER fit.
A monitor is great if you're going to be outdoors while the baby is sleeping, but if you are in the house you will hear every sound your child makes without a monitor (its some type of special mommy hearing, LOL)
A bassinet is a wast of money.
If you're going to save coupons for baby items, make sure you put them in your purse (I can't tell you how many times I've gotten to the checkout line and have been able to tell the clerk exactly where the coupon is sitting on my computer desk AT HOME).

The whole collection is divided into diffrent age groups. I know there are some for 18 month olds. You just have to read the back of the box and look on the color chart..it will tell you. I bought some at BURKE'S OUTLET for $1.99 a piece. They are really interesting. My daughter is almost 3 and she still watches them.

For diapers I use Huggies hug flex because it causes less chafing between the thighs because of the narrower fit.
Strollers…I would not recommend one with hard plastic double wheels! (the rides too rough) get one with rubber wheels that are filled with air, also, think about buying a European type stroller that comes with a bassinet basket and then converts later on into a sitting stroller (I just find this system much more practical and useful).
My husband and I purchased a car seat that we can use right through our daughters toddler years, we found this to be more economical than purchasing and infant seat, baby seat then a booster seat.
Don't get too many wash clothes or receiving blankets – I still don;t know what to do with all the ones I have. And I never did figure out what to do with the receiving blankets.
I have one sling and one carrier, I use the snugly the most only because it's easier to put on and I haven't figured out how to use the cuddly wrap.
Toys – get a box from eBay,. they have tons of stuff in them and costs way less
I hope this helps you some, I'm a mother to a six month old and I still haven't figured it all out when it comes to baby stuff. And if I had the chance to start over, I would never have bought any receiving blankets, baby socks, and more than one package of wash clothes.
