Pick a time when neither you nor your child is hungry or tired. At the store walk up and down the aisles.

Let your child feel the items that you buy - Talk to your child about the items: "Here, you feel it".

Be sure to name the objects that you see on shelves and talk about what you are seeing and doing: "First, we're going to. See? It's in a big red and blue box. Listen to the great noise it makes when I shake the box. Can you shake the box? Now we're going to pay for the toy. We're put them on the counter while I get out the money. The cashier will tell us how much we have to pay."

Encourage your child to practice saying "hi" and "bye-bye" to clerks and other shoppers.

Leave for home before your child gets tired or grumpy.

I love disinfectant spray! I think it is awesome. Obviously you don't want to give it to your child while it is wet and you just freshly sprayed it, but I use it on my sons toys while he is napping or after he goes to bed and put then run them under hot water and let them dry. It just makes me feel better. But also hot, soapy water works great too.

I wouldn't try any of the above! What i have been doing is what you mentioned. I either use Dreft (is that spelled right?) or Tide unscented/undyed. I use very little with warm water and then either hang or lay out to dry. Haven't had any problems. Hope this helps.

You should be able to throw it in the washing machine. I wouldn't clean it with any cleaners. You don't want the baby getting those cleaners in their mouth. Plastic and rubber do fine in the washer, but don't so well in the dryer so try to let it air dry.

I agree with hot soapy water but you could also use a 50/50 solution of water and peroxide. If you are looking for a non toxic/healthy way to clean.

Yeah, bleach and water works just make sure they are completely dry when you give them back. Also the Lysol wipes are really good too

I used to work in an infant room in a daycare center and DHS regulations had us spray the toys with diluted bleach…take a clean spray bottle and fill it full of water then add one table spoon of bleach to it. Spray the toys over the sink and let air dry. If there are stains on them you are trying to remove, you can simply take a little bit of laundry detergent and rub it on the stain and then rinse it.

use a good disinfectant. Babies put things in their mouth all the time. Wash all her things in warm soapy water, rinse and sprau with a disinfectant .Let dry. Always read lables no matter what you use for your babies health aand protection. Good Mother KC. Keep asking if you don't know. Some of us oldies have already been there. Jk
